The Past
Otis Eastern Service Inc., was founded in 1936 as a regional division of Otis Engineering of Dallas, Texas. The company manufactured high-pressure wellhead equipment for the growing oil and gas drilling industry in the Appalachian Region. As the years passed, Otis began to construct gathering systems and pipelines to help producers get their products to market. The company also provided drilling and well servicing to companies in Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York.

In 1981, Charles H. Joyce and Charles P. Joyce purchased Otis and began to change the focus to the construction and rehabilitation of cross-country transmission pipelines. By using their wide network of industry contacts, the two were able to expand their client base to include all the major gas, oil, and liquids transporters in the Northeast.

The Present
Today, Otis Eastern Service is one of the leading pipeline contractors in the US. Specializing in projects with tough environmental and logistical challenges and is known throughout the industry for its ability to schedule and complete projects in a safe and timely manner. The company still works primarily in New England and the Mid Atlantic States, but has opportunities to bid on work in all areas of the country.
